Bulldogs show well in Brown Invite

SMITHFIELD, R.I.  – The Bryant University men's tennis team wrapped up play in the Brown Invitational on Sunday afternoon at the Bryant Tennis Courts.

Bryant played three days of tennis against three separate teams, winning 7-of-9 matches against Quinnipiac and splitting 10 matches with UConn. Brown won 11-of-12 matches on Saturday.

"We are not overly pleased with our results this weekend. We lack toughness and grit. We will work harder to get where we need to be."

How it Happened

• Bryant opened the weekend with a dominating performance against Quinnipiac, winning all six singles matches on the afternoon. Both Trent Massam (Wellington, New Zealand) and Jorge Isaias Ortiz-Garcia (Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico) won in three sets.  
• Massam and doubles partner Wilson Dong (Bradenton, Fla.) posted Bryant's only win on Saturday vs. Brown, taking their match 6-2.
• On Sunday, freshman Nick Lorenz (Colorado Springs, Colo.) won his first-career match to help Bryant take 4-of-7 in singles play.
