Men's tennis picked first in preseason poll

SOMERSET, N.J. – The Bryant University men's tennis team has been tabbed as the preseason favorite in the Northeast Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll, the league announced on Tuesday afternoon.

Bryant received five first-place votes to pace the seven-team league. Fairleigh Dickinson received the other two first-place votes. Sacred Heart, Mount St. Mary's, St. Francis Brooklyn, Wagner and Saint Francis U round out the poll.

The Black and Gold have won six-straight league titles and have won more championships than any other NEC team in the team scoring format era. Head coach Ron Gendron returns for his 15th year and is the most decorated head coach in NEC Tennis history, having won a league-record seven NEC Coach of the Year honors.

Bryant plays its first match of the season on Friday afternoon against Army.
