COVID-19 and Impact on Bryant Club Sports

Dear Bryant Bulldog Club Sports Student-Athletes, Coaches and Parents:

As you can imagine, the past few days have been incredibly difficult knowing the impact these steps and critical decisions will have on our outstanding Bryant club sport student-athletes. I cannot emphasize enough how proud I am of our club sport student-athletes, especially our dedicated senior leaders.

Yesterday, the NCAA announced the cancellation of all spring sport championships. In light of this decision, many other national governing bodies of other sports have followed the NCAA decision. After formal discussions with Athletic Administration and Student Affairs, we have also determined that Bryant University Club Sports will also be canceling all spring seasons effective immediately.

Again, the purpose of these decisions is to continue to ensure the health and safety of our entire campus community.  Currently, there are no known or suspected cases of coronavirus or anyone with symptoms requiring action on the Bryant University campus. Out of an abundance of caution, however, we are proactively taking many steps to mitigate the future risk of virus on campus and ensure that all members of the Bryant community stay safe and as healthy as possible during this escalating global health situation.

Please take this time to take care of yourself and your families and focus on your studies online. I know this is an incredibly difficult time for all of you, especially our spring sport student-athletes.  Please know that my staff and I are here to support and assist you in any way possible.

Sincerely,

Nick Schleicher
