Six Bulldogs named NFCA All-American Scholar-Athletes

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Six student-athletes with the Bryant University softball team received NFCA All-American Scholar-Athlete awards for their work in the classroom in the 2016-17 academic year.

Graduates Alexandra Page (Grafton, Mass.), Taylor Burger (Killingworth, Conn.), Haylee Haas (Moorpark, Calif.), Lauren Keast (Holliston, Mass.), junior Colby Norris (Toano, Va.), and sophomore Nicole Zukowski (Medford, N.Y.) all received the prestigious academic award, which is given out to student-athletes who obtain a 3.5 or higher grade-point-average over the academic year. For Page, 2017 marked the second time she received the award, also being named a Scholar Athlete in 2015, as well.

The NFCA Scholar-Athletes are the latest awards given out for performance in the classroom. In the spring, 15 Bulldogs were named to the NEC Academic Honor Roll for having at least a 3.20 GPA, and Norris was named to the NEC Commissioner's Honor Roll for having at least a 3.75 mark in the classroom.
