Seattle U Invite next up for Bulldogs

SEATTLE, Wash. – The Bryant University softball team will play in its final early season invitational as the Bulldogs enter the Seattle U invite. The Black and Gold will take on Portland State University and Seattle, playing a combined five games over three days.

BULLDOG NOTES AND NOTABLES

  • Bryant enters the week with a 4-11 record on the season.
  • Freshman Morgan Powell (Murrieta, Calif.) leads the Bulldogs with a .313 average. At Washington on Wednesday, the outfielder went 1-for-3.
  • Freshmen Alexandra Hickey (St. John, Ind.) and Dakota Bilodeau (Milford, N.H.) are tied for the team lead with two home runs each. Hickey is the Bulldog leader in RBI, having driven in seven runs on the year.
  • Senior catcher Robyn Ukegawa (Carlsbad, Calif.) heads into the weekend with a .269 average for the Bulldogs and has driven in five runs and hit one home run. She leads the team with three doubles in 2018.
  • In the circle, redshirt junior Logan Paul (Shaker Heights, Ohio) owns a 3-1 record.
  • Freshman pitcher Sarah McKeveny (Bohemia, N.Y.) is coming off of a game where she struck out six over 3.2 innings. She leads the Bulldog staff with 21 strikeouts on the season.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS

  • Portland State enters the weekend with a 4-15 record. The team last competed in the UNLV Rebel Classic this past weekend. Bryant and Portland State were scheduled to meet on Tuesday, but rain forced the doubleheader to be canceled.
  • Kaela Morrow has a .333 average for the Vikings and leads the team with five home runs and 14 RBI.
  • In the circle, Emma Detamore leads Portland State in most categories. Detamore is 2-4 with a 5.46 ERA with 15 strikeouts in 33.1 innings pitched.
  • Seattle comes into Friday with a 14-12 record. This past weekend, the Redhawks participated in the CSUN Tournament hosted by Cal State Northridge, going 1-4 in the tournament.
  • Madison Cathcart leads Seattle with a .466 average. She has 14 of the team's 22 home runs and has driven in 35 runs this season.
