French adds eight to Class of 2024

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant University softball head coach Nick French announced eight as part of the Class of 2024.

"This is a really good, well-rounded class that can play a lot of different positions in the field for us," said French. "Offensively, this group brings a lot of power potential to the plate. I am excited to have them as part of our Bryant Softball family and look forward to watching them grow on and off the field in strong, confident adults."

Abby Trimble – INF | Temecula, Calif. | Great Oak

Before Bryant
A two-year varsity letter winner in softball at Great Oak High School … Named All-League Performer … Plays travel softball for So Cal Athletics since 2015 … Helped her travel team become PGF Qualifiers four years straight … Also helped her former travel softball team, Firecrackers, to back-to-back PGF Qualifiers in 2013 and 2014 … Member of Wolfpack Student Body and B.A.N.G (Building A New Generation) school club … Volunteered at Kick with Nick Community Service teaching kids with autism how to play soccer.

Daughter of Nicole and Chris Trimble … Has one brother, Jack … Father, Chris, played football at the University of Montana, and her mother, Nicole, played softball at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

 

Megan Marcel – INF | Plymouth, Mass. | Archbishop Williams

Before Bryant
A four-year varsity letter winner in both softball and basketball at Archbishop Williams … Helped her high school squad to a 13-6 record leading the team to the first round of playoffs in 2016 … As a freshman, earned Patriot Ledger All-Scholastic, Coach's Award, and Catholic Central League All-Star honors for softball … Plays travel softball for the Mass Drifters … Member of National Honors Society and Student Council Vice President for four years.

A four-year varsity letter winner in softball at Notre Dame Academy … Earned All-Sunshine League Honorable Mention as a freshman and Second Team All-Sunshine League as a sophomore and junior … Selected to play for the Ireland National Team in 2018 … Competed in the European Championships in the summer of 2018 and played in the World Championships in the summer of 2019 … Helped the Ireland National Team to a silver medal in the 19U European Softball Championship and bronze medal in the 22U European Softball Championships in 2018 … Plays travel softball for Firecrackers – Himble.
