French announces 2020 Schedule

Smithfield, R.I. – The Bryant University softball 2020 schedule has been released and is highlighted by matchups against seven NCAA Tournament teams.

"It's certainly a very challenging schedule," said French.  "We're gonna be tested right away and all the way through our non conference play but we really believe that is going to get us ready to play in the NEC and compete with anybody in that conference. Getting the oppurtunity to play in some of the most iconic softball ballparks is a great way to enhance our student athlete experience".

Bryant will have a 50-game schedule that consists of five different regular season tournaments.

Bryant will head to Hillenbrand Memorial Stadium in Tucson, Arizona to compete in the Hillenbrand Invitational beginning February 14. The Bulldogs will play four games in two days, facing Long Beach State, Oklahoma, University of Northern Iowa, and Arizona.

Bryant then travels to Macon, Georgia to participate in the Black and Orange Challenge starting on February 21 hosted by Mercer. The Bulldogs will open against Akron and then face Georgia St., Presbyterian, Mercer, and finish with a rematch against Akron.

The Bulldogs will spend their spring break (March 6-15) in the south, opening with a trip to Starkville, Mississippi for the Bulldog Slamboree where they will face Southeast Missouri State, Mississippi State, and Mississippi Valley.

The Bulldogs continue their southern road trip with midweek games against Jackson St., UAB, and Samford (March 9-11).

Bryant will finish its spring break trip in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, competing in the Alabama Softball Tournament (March 13-15). This will be one of the hardest stretches in team history as Bryant will play three NCAA Tournament teams in the University of Texas, the University of Alabama, and BYU

The Bulldogs will finally return north and face Providence at Glay Field on March 18th.

Bryant will then travel to New York to compete in the Stony Brook Invitational (March 21-22) to face off against Stony Brook and Fairfield. This will be Bryant's final tournament during the regular season.

Bryant will finish its 34-game road trip with a game against Brown (March 24) and a doubleheader against Merrimack (March 28).

The Bulldogs make their home debut with a Northeast Conference doubleheader against Wagner on March 29th.

Bryant will begin the month of April on a five game road trip (April 1-5) against URI, Robert Morris, and the defending NEC champions Saint Francis U.

After this road stretch the Bulldogs return home to face NEC foe Central Connecticut for a doubleheader on April 11th.

The doubleheader will be followed by the final road trip of the season for the Bulldogs. Bryant will face Siena (March 14), Fairleigh Dickinson (March 18), and Sacred Heart (March 19th).

The Black and Gold finish the regular season with a five game home stand. Bryant will compete in two doubleheaders against NEC opponents Long Island (April 25) and Mount St. Mary's (April 26). The final regular season game will be against Maine on April 30th.
