Hudson homers on Friday as Dawgs lose to Rider and ECU

GREENVILLE, N.C. - Aleix Hudson of the Bryant University softball team hit the first home run of the season and tallied two RBIs in the 8-3 loss to Rider during game one of the Purple and Gold Invitational.

The Bulldogs fell to East Carolina in game two by a score of 7-0.

How it Happened (Game 1)

• Rider hit an RBI double up the middle, scoring two runs in the bottom of the first inning (2-0).
• McKenzie McAloon hit a leadoff single, followed by a double to the right from Carlyn Hernandez, placing runners on second and third. Hudson then hit a sac-fly to right, scoring a run for Bryant during the top of the second (2-1).
• The Broncs hit an RBI double to right field in the bottom of the third inning (3-1).
• In the top of the fourth inning, Hudson launched a two-out solo home run to left-center, making it a one-run game (3-2).
• The Broncs responded with an RBI single up the middle, increasing the deficit to two (4-2).
• RU posted four runs on four RBI singles in the bottom of the fifth inning (8-2).
• The Bulldogs were walked three straight times to load the bases with one out in the top of the seventh inning. Erica Barley then brought home the final run of the game on a sacrifice fly (8-3).
