SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Makenna Coleman of the Bryant University softball team extended her hitting streak to 13 games with a solo home run in the Black and Golds' 5-2 victory against UMass Lowell, earning their second consecutive America East series sweep.

Aleix Hudson hit her seventh home run of the season and Alexis Larrow went 2-2 at the plate with two RBIs.

The Bulldogs have won eight in a row, which is their longest win streak of the season.

How it Happened

  • With one out in the top of the first inning, Hudson hit a solo home run (1-0). Megan Marcel was then hit with a pitch and a Hannah Cochran double. Larrow knocked an RBI single to left-center, bringing home two (3-0).
  • In the top of the second inning, Coleman extended her hitting streak to 13 games with a solo home run (4-0).
  • The River Hawks began the bottom of the third inning with a one-run home run to left field (3-1).
  • During the top of the fourth inning, Larrow hit a leadoff single, and then Olyvia Smith tallied a single with two outs, placing runners at the corner. Smith then stole second, and UML threw down, allowing Alyssa Garabedian to score at home (5-1).
  • In the bottom of the sixth inning, UML scored the game's final run on an RBI single (5-2).
