BRYANT WOMEN'S TRACK & FIELD TEAM HONORED BY UNITED STATES TRACK COACHES ASSOCIATION WITH TEAM ACADEMIC AWARD
The Bryant University women's cross country track & field team
was recognized this afternoon with selection to the 2006 U.S. Track
& Field Cross Country Coaches Association team academic honors
for their outstanding work in the classroom this past
year.
During the fall, the women's cross country team saw four student-athletes earn Dean's List honors as well as induction in the Chi Alpha Sigma national honor society. During the spring, 13 track & field student-athletes earned above a 3.0 GPA with 10 qualifying for Dean's List honors.
The U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) honors individuals and teams for their academic and athletic accomplishments during the indoor and outdoor track seasons. Forty-nine Division II women's teams had cumulative grade-point averages of 3.0 or higher.
To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track & Field Team, an athlete must have a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher and must have met the NCAA Division II national qualifying standard in her event.
