INDOOR TRACK TEAMS COMPETE AT BOSTON UNIVERSITY

BOSTON - Competing for the first time since early December, the Bryant University men's and women's indoor track & field teams competed at the Boston University Terrier Invitational at the BU Track & Tennis Saturday. The Bulldogs turned in several strong performances including top-10 finishes by Nicole Radzik and Amber Torrey.
Competing against a field consisting of teams of all divisions from throughout the Northeast, Radzik placed eighth in the women's 5,000 meters. The senior finished in a time of 17 minutes, 31.54 seconds.
Torrey, a senior, showed little rust from the holiday winter break, earning two strong finishes in the women's weight throw and the shot put. Torrey placed fifth in the weight throw with a best mark of 46 feet, 6.75. Earlier, she took 12th in the shot put with a mark of 36-6.75.
Stephanie Montagano placed 28th in the 200 meters (26.94) and Jennifer Denise finished 31st in the 1,000 meters (3:16.55).
On the men's side, Thomas O'Connor took 28th in the 200 meters in 22.74 seconds while teammate Curtis Markinac was 61st in 23.68. Alex Engel ran a strong race in the 400 meters, finishing in 49.76 seconds while Corey Chapman and Jason Thresher finished 54th and 56th respectively in the 800 meters.
In the throws, Steven Haskell had a busy day, finishing 19th in the weight throw (39-8.75) and earlier took 31st in the shot put with a day's best mark of 34 feet, four inches.
The teams will return to action this Friday and Saturday at the University of Rhode Island Mega Meet.
