Track and Field announces Class of 2021
SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant University Director of Cross Country/Track and Field Mitchell Switzer is pleased to announce the 24-member Class of 2021 that will join the Bulldogs this fall.
"We are very excited to welcome this group of Bulldogs into our program," Switzer said. "This year's class is our largest to date, and really fills out a lot of event group areas in our program. Athletically and academically, I look for each one of these men and women to make an immediate and lasting impact"
Nicholas Alessandro | Pomfret, Conn. | Marianapolis Prep School
A four-year varsity letterwinner in track and field at Marianapolis Prep … Helped Golden Knights win a league championship as a junior … Team finished second during his senior year … Finished first in the javelin, 300m hurdles and long jump at the Southeast New England Conference Championships as a junior … Finished fourth in the javelin at the NEPSTA DIII Championships … Placed first in the javelin at the SENEs and second in the javelin at the NEPSTAs as a senior … Also earned four varsity letters in crew … National Honor Society member.
Jacob Borgia | Westborough, Mass. | Westborough
A two-year varsity letterwinner at Westborough … Competed in the pole vault … Helped team to back-to-back league titles as a junior and a senior … Finished seventh in the state as a senior … Earned Revised Sportsmanship Award as a junior.
Brett Cloutier | North Attleboro, Mass. | North Attleboro
A two-year varsity letterwinner at North Attleboro … Competed in the shot put … Two-time Hockomock League All-Star Honorable Mention each of his final two years … Finished second in the shot put at the Hockomock League Championships as a senior … Also earned a varsity letter in baseball.
Jordan Dagrin | Providence, R.I. | Bishop Hendricken
A three-year varsity letterwinner in track and field and a two-year varsity letterwinner in cross country at Bishop Hendricken … First Team All-State in the 4x800 as a senior … Finished fourth in the 1500m at the outdoor state championships … Earned All-New England honors as a member of the 4x900 relay team … Helped 4x800 set school record … Second Team All-State honors in the 4x800 as a junior … Helped team win the outdoor track and field championship … High Honor Roll.
Keenan Devaney | Tolland, Conn. | Tolland
