Seven Bulldogs named All-NEC

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Seven Bryant University track and field athletes earned Northeast Conference All-Conference honors after their performances during the 2018 outdoor season, the conference announced Tuesday.

Track athletes Ryan Poholek (Attleboro, Mass.), Emily Cluck (Johnson City, N.Y.) and Olivia Weiss (Newton, N.J.), as well as field athlete Chris Fasano (Lake Grove, N.Y.), were named Second Team All-NEC. Poholek ran a 1:55.44 in the 800m, Cluck finished the 400m in 55.40 and Weiss' mark in the 1500m was 4:40.40 at the Northeast Conference Outdoor Championships earlier in the month, earning them the honor. Fasano's throw of 15.24m in the shot put also earned him Second-Team laurels.

Fasano was also placed on the All-Rookie team for his performance in the event, while fellow field athletes Bill Conlan (Seymour, Conn.) and Nick Alessandro (Pomfret Center, Conn.) also made the list. Conlan's best mark in the hammer throw was 43.32m, while Alessandro's throw of 54.05m in the javelin earned him All-Rookie honors.
