Two new records highlight ECAC/IC4A Championship

BOSTON, Mass. – Sophomore Jason Dolan (Westford, Mass.) highlighted the weekend at the ECAC/IC4A Championship for the Bryant University men's and women's indoor track and field team. Dolan not only helped the 4x800 team to a new school record but also broke his previously set school record in the 1000m.

COACH SWITZER'S COMMENTS

"It was great to end our indoor season on a high note," said head coach Mitch Switzer. "Emily and Jason made finals, as well as Jason breaking his school record again in the prelims on Saturday. The men's 4x800 shattered the school record last night and just missed out on making the finals after coming into the meet seeded much lower. Overall I think we're in a great place headed into the outdoor season."

TOP PERFORMERS

  • Dolan broke his own school record which he set in the previous meet at the BU Last Chance Qualifier on Feb. 28. Dolan set the new record on Saturday in the preliminary heat with a record-breaking time of 2:25.59. The sophomore ran to a sixth-place finish on Sunday in the final heat with a time of 2:31.54.
  • The men's 4x800 team of Jordan Dagrin (North Kingstown, R.I.), William Bittrich (Duxbury, Mass.), Christopher Wrenn (Norton, Mass.), and Dolan also walked away with a new school record this weekend. The team set a new Bryant school record with a time of 7:45.97. Despite the record-breaking performance, the squad finished 11th in the preliminary heat, finishing just outside the qualifying teams for finals.
  • On the women's side, senior Emily Cluck (Johnson City, N.Y.) qualified for finals in the 400m. Cluck finished second in preliminaries with a time of 55.26 but then did not finish in the final heat.
  • Sophomore Nicole Xiarhos (Berlin, Conn.) just missed the final heat as she finished 24th in preliminaries in the 200m with a time of 25.16.
