Bulldogs hit the road for the first time in 2021

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University men's and women's outdoor track and field team hits the road for the first time this season on Saturday, April 10. The Bulldogs are set to compete at Merrimack against the Warriors, Assumption, and UMass Lowell.

BULLDOGS NOTES AND NOTABLES

  • Bryant last competed at home against Rhode Island and Central Connecticut and the women finished second while the men finished third.
  • Four broken records highlighted the last meet for the Black and Gold. Junior Jason Dolan and Sarah Freeman both broke the men's and women's school record for the mile while junior Shileigh Martinez and Lois Warden broke the record in pole vault. Dolan finished first out of 19 runners with a mile time of 4:10.74. Freeman also finished first in the women's mile run with a record-breaking time of 5:10.67. Martinez and Warden both tied for second when they cleared a height of 3.50m.
  • Freshman William Remkiewicz earned both NEC Co-Track Athlete and Co-Rookie of the Week honors for his standout performance in the 400m. The rookie won first overall with a time of 47.17 which ranks him second all-time in Bryant's record book. The time ranks first in the NEC and is top-20 in the NCAA Division I East Region.
  • Sophomores Kasey Thomas and Lily Lagoy rank 1-2 in the NEC in shotput. Thomas posted a PR of 12.83m while Lagoy threw for 12.05m during the first meet of the year.
  • Freshman Jasmine Hope is first in the conference in long jump after setting a PR of 5.63m as she sits second in Bryant's record book.
  • The men's 4x800 relay team of William Bittrich, Evan Coyne, Jordan Dagrin, and Nolan Hickey pace the conference with a time of 8:01.02 which helped the team finish first overall against URI and CCSU.
