Richard Brown
Title: Assistant Track Coach


Coach Rick Brown begins his fourth season as the Bryant University sprints, hurdles, and jumps coach.

Rick has been training and coaching athletes for over 20 years. He holds a Bachelors degree from Westfield State College in Criminal Justice, with a minor in Exercise Sport Science from Fitchburg State College. He is a member of several National speed, agility, and explosive training organizations. He is a certified USATF track coach, as well as a certified Pole Vault safety instructor.

For over 10 years Rick was the Director of health and fitness for the Massachusetts State Police training academy. Prior to joining the Bryant University Coaching staff Rick spent 6 years as head indoor as well as head outdoor girls track and field coach at Bishop Feehan High school in Attleboro, Massachusetts. Bishop Feehan's track programs enjoyed many outstanding seasons under Rick's guidance. Winning several league and State Class championships

Rick is the founder and director of the Triboro tornado's speed training and track club located in the greater Attleboro area.

Rick is a former High school and College, All State, All New England, and All American track athlete. His Decathlon record still stands as one of Fitchburg State Colleges, oldest track and field records. Rick was voted Fitchburg State Colleges Athlete of the year in 1977 and 79. In 1980 he was voted the City of Haverhill, Massachusetts athlete of the Decade. He is a member of the Fitchburg State College Hall of Fame. In 1982, Rick was signed by the New England Patriots as a free agent wide receiver.

The Bryant University track program has seen several athletes and relay teams compete at the All New England Championships. In 2005-2006 Bryant University sent it's first ever sprinter to the Division II National Indoor Championships.
