Everson named Bulldog captain for 2017-18 season

SMITHFIELD, R.I. -- The Bryant University women's basketball program announced Tuesday that Kathleen Everson (Farmingville, New York) was named the team's captain ahead of the 2017-18 season.

"Kat has always been about team success and being a selfless member of our program," Bryant head coach Mary Burke said. "It will now be under her leadership that the program will continue to maintain an elite status in the Northeast Conference and live up to the high standard for which the program has been accustomed to."

Everson has appeared in 14 games for the Bulldogs and has been an integral piece of the team that Coach Burke and her staff have built. Since joining the Bulldogs, teams Everson have been on have gone a combined 58-36. The 58 wins are the most in a three-year span since Burke took over the program prior to the 1991-92 season.

The Bulldogs, led by Everson, will open up the season on Nov. 10 when they travel to Boston College for an 11 a.m. matchup.
