COACH BURKE COMMENTS

"I really thought we gave one away tonight," said head coach Mary Burke. "In the first half we did a good job defensively holding them to a shooting percentage of 22%. But, we turned the ball over too much and made bad decisions when the game was on the line. There is no way you can win games like that and unfortunately we paid the price for that tonight. BU did the things that were necessary at the end of the game to win."

KEY MOMENT

  • With under 30 seconds to go in the game, Boston University's Katie Nelson drove to the basket making a left-handed layup to give the Terriers the game.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The first quarter started off going back and forth between the two teams with three lead changes before the Bulldogs went on a 10-2 run led by Scanlan.

  • To start the second quarter, the Terriers went on an 8-2 run to take the lead. Not before long, Holloway kick started the Bulldog offense as the Black and Gold went on an 11-3 run to close out the half.

  • Free throws were the key to Bryant's offense in the third quarter as they went 8-10 at the line led by Holloway with four made free throws.

  • After Haley Connors (West Hartford, Conn.) hit her lone three-pointer of the night, the Terriers went on a 9-3 run to tie the game with under two minutes to go.

  • Katie Nelson drove to the basket with under 30 to go in the game to win the game for the Terriers.

  • The Bulldogs threw the ball away seven times in the fourth quarter alone, compared to Boston's four, leading to 10 Terrier points off of turnovers in the final quarter.

STATS

  • Julia Kelner (Fayetteville, N.Y.) led the Bulldogs on the glass with a career-high 10 rebounds.

  • Senior guard Kierra Palmer (Aberdeen, Md.) led Bryant with six assists.
