Bryant hosts Wagner for Senior Night

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant Univeristy women's basketball team closes out the regular season against Wagner on Thursday, March 7 at 1 p.m. for Senior Night.

Senior Day
The three seniors of Naomi Ashley (Hamilton, Ont.), Haley Connors (West Hartford, Conn.) and Kierra Palmer (Aberdeen, Md.) will be honored before the game for their dedication to the program. 

THE MATCHUP
Bryant closes out its regular season schedule on Thursday, March 7 in Smithfield as the Bulldogs host Wagner at 7 p.m. for Senior Night. The winner of Thursday's game will finish in fifth place for the regular season and will be set to go to either Saint Francis Pa. or St. Francis Brooklyn for the quarterfinal game of the NEC Tournament.

SCOUTING THE SEAHAWKS
Wagner posts an 8-9 record in conference play and is currently ahead of Bryant in the final standings by just one game. The Seahawks are currently on a three-game losing streak after the Bulldogs topped Wagner just last week, 84-69.

Taylah Simmons leads Wagner in scoring  and rebounding, averaging 14.8 points and 6.8 rebounds a game. Against the Bulldogs, Simmons led her team with 21 points, nine rebounds.

SERIES HISTORY
Bryant holds the series record, 16-2, after topping Wagner on Feb. 25, 84-69. The only two times that the Bulldogs have lost to the Seahawks have been in Smithfield. Just last season, Wagner beat Bryant at home, 75-66.

LAST TIME OUT: BRYANT 64, LIU BROOKLYN 59
Head coach, Mary Burke, achieved her 400th career win at LIU Brooklyn on Monday, 69-54.

Sydney Holloway (Morgantown, W.Va,) tied her career-high with 29 points, along with Hannah Scanlan (Rumson, N.J.) and Masey Zegarowski (Hamilton, Ont.) who also posted double-figure scoring. Scanlan added 15 while Zegarowski chipped in 12.

400
Head Coach Mary Burke reached the 400 win milestone on Monday, March 4 at LIU Brooklyn. The Bulldogs topped the Blackbirds, 69-54.

ON THE RISE
Holloway has continued to climb the Division I scoring ranks at Bryant jumping seven spots already this year.  She has surpassed Jenniqua Bailey for the third spot and is now tied with Naana Ankoma-Mensa for second. Holloway reached the 1,000 point milestone on 12/30 against Holy Cross becoming the fastest player in Bryant women's basketball Division I history to do so.

SHOOTERS SHOOT
Senior Kierra Palmer notched a perfect 4-4 from three at Robert Morris. At Mount St. Mary's, Palmer shot 5-of-6 from beyond the arc. In NEC play, Palmer posts a three-point shooting percentage of 36.5. Junior Masey Zegarowski has also proven to be a sharp shooter during the conference schedule as she shot 4-of-5 at Robert Morris. She leads the team with a 34.8 three-point shooting percentage against NEC foes.

UP NEXT
The quarterfinal game of the NEC Tournament will be on Monday March 11 at 7 p.m. and the Bulldogs will be playing on the road at either Saint Francis U, St. Francis Brooklyn, or Sacred Heart.
