Bryant tied for fifth; Holloway earns unanimous Preseason All-NEC

Brooklyn, N.Y. – The Bryant University women's basketball team tied for fifth out of 11 teams in the Northeast Conference preseason poll. Senior Sydney Holloway (Morgantown, W. Va.) also earned her second-straight Preseason All-NEC honor as announced Wednesday at the annual NEC Social Media Day at Barclays Center.

Robert Morris earned a unanimous first-place spot after hoisting the NEC trophy a year ago. The 2018-19 league runner up, Saint Francis U, was picked to finish second followed by Mount St. Mary's and Sacred Heart who tied for third. The Bulldogs tied for fifth with St. Francis Brooklyn.

Wagner, LIU, Fairleigh Dickinson, Central Connecticut, and the newest member of the NEC Merrimack round out the bottom half of the conference preseason standings.

Holloway earned her second-straight preseason honor after leading the conference in doubles-doubles (18), field-goal percentage (48.9), offensive rebounds per game (4), rebounds (337), and rebounds per game (11.2) last season. The Morgantown native earned her second consecutive All-NEC First Team honor last season after leading the Bulldogs to a 9-9 conference mark and an appearance in postseason conference play.
