Gallagher earns NEC Rookie of the Week honors

SOMERSET, N.J. – Bryant University women's basketball freshman Nicole Gallagher (Foxboro, Mass.) was named Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday.

Gallagher posted a career-high 21 points at Vermont on Sunday shooting 60.0 percent from the field including 2-of-5 from three. The 5-8 point guard accounted for 14 points in the second half alone, sinking four field goals in just three minutes of play in the fourth quarter before fouling out. The rookie is the first Bulldog to post a 20+ point game this season and the first to dish out five assists, which also marks a career-best. Gallagher's five assists went along with just one turnover for a 5.0 assist-to-turnover ratio.  Gallagher concluded the 71-66 setback with four rebounds and one steal. The Foxboro native is the first Rookie of the Week honoree for the Black and gold since Hannah Scanlan in 2018.

The Bulldogs are now 1-2 overall before heading to Holy Cross for a midweek tilt on Wednesday, Nov. 20 at 7:05 p.m. Bryant returns home on Dec. 2 when the Bulldogs take on UMass Lowell and tickets. 2019-20 single-game and season tickets can be purchased HERE
