Bryant hosts UMass Lowell on Monday

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University women's basketball returns home after a four-game road stretch as they host UMass Lowell on Monday, Dec. 2. The Bulldogs square off with the River Hawks at 5 p.m. in the first game of a Bryant doubleheader as the men's squad takes on Navy in game two.

SCOUTING THE RIVER HAWKS
Umass Lowell is off to a slow start in 2019-20 as the Riverhawks have dropped all of their first six games. The team's closest deficit came against Yale when UML dropped a 67-59 decision against the Bulldogs. Despite the single-digit deficit, the River Hawks post a -24.8 scoring margin averaging just 49.3 points per game off a 30 percent field goal percentage.

LAST TIME OUT: ILLINOIS
Bryant dropped a 101-56 decision against the Golden Gophers of Minnesota on Tuesday night in Minneapolis. Senior Masey Zegarowski (Hamilton, Mass.) led the Bulldogs in her second-straight season-high performance with 13 points. Along with Zegarowski, the Bulldogs posted four double-digit scorers for the first time this season in Alana Perkins (Wauwatosa, Wis.) (11), and Sydney Holloway (Morgantown, W.Va.) and Nicole Gallagher (Foxboro, Mass.) with 10 apiece. 

ON THE RISE
Holloway is just one point away from tying and two points away from breaking Bryant's Division I scoring record. Breanna Rucker '16 currently holds the record with 1,395 points.

ZEGA-WHO?
Zegarowski led the Bulldogs for the second straight game with a season-high 13 points off six-of-11 shooting at Minnesota. The 13-point performance marked her third double-digit scoring game of the season. 

BOARDING SCHOOL
Despite being outrebounded in back-to-back games, the Bulldogs continue to lead the NEC in rebound margin are second behind Long Island with 14.83 offensive rebounds per game. Holloway leads the conference and is among the top 20 in the country in rebounds per game and offensive rebounds per game.

UP NEXT: PROVIDENCE
Bryant hosts the Ocean State Tip-Off Tournament on Dec. 7. The Bulldogs first meet with Providence at noon before squaring off with either Rhode Island or Brown on Dec. 8.
