Bryant closes out non-conference slate at Army

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Bryant University women's basketball team looks to grow to a two-game win streak after its 68-55 victory over Albany, as they hit the road for Army West Point on Dec. 29 for a 1 p.m. matinee. The Sunday matchup is the first and only road game of the month as the Bulldogs round out the non-conference schedule.

SCOUTING THE BLACK KNIGHTS
The Black Knights post a 3-7 record with two of its three wins coming against NEC foes in LIU and Fairleigh Dickinson. Since the short win streak, Army has endured a two-game losing streak against both St. Johns and Manhattan.

Alisa Fallon leads the Black Knights in scoring dropping 12.3 a night at the guard position. In the backcourt, Army is led by both Sabria Hunter and Lindsey Scamman on the glass as they both earned high ranks among the Patriot League. Hunter also ranks fourth in the league averaging one block per game.

LAST TIME OUT: ALBANY
Bryant snapped an eight-game losing streak on Friday before the holidays over Albany, 68-55. Junior Brooke Bjelko (Plattsburgh, N.Y.) led the Black and Gold with a career-high 23 points with 11 points coming from the charity stripe. Bjelko also contributed two blocks as the Bulldogs broke their Division I Single-Game Team Block record with nine. Sophomore Trinity Bravo (Bridgeport, Conn.) led with a career-high of four blocks and added 12 points. Senior Masey Zegarowski (Hamilton, Mass.) netted 14 contributing to the 39.2 percent team shooting percentage off 20-of-51 from the field.

BRAVO!
Bravo had a career-game against Albany with a career-best 12 points, eight assists, and four blocks. Bravo's four blocks were the most in a single-game since Sydney Holloway (Morgantown, W.Va.) in 2017 at James Madison.

LUCKY YEAR NUMBER THREE
Bjelko netted a career-high 23 points against Albany on Dec. 20. The offensive burst was the first 20-point performance of her career as the 6-3 center tallied 11-of-12 from the stripe and added two blocks. Bjelko earned NEC Prime Performer laurels for her efforts.

BLOCK PARTY
Bryant broke its Division I single-game team block record against Albany on Dec. 20. The Bulldogs tallied nine team blocks led by Bravo with four. The previous record was set on two different occasions in 2017 against LIU Brooklyn and Robert Morris with seven. 

SECOND HALF DAWGS
The Bulldogs outscored both of their opponents in the second half to come back from a halftime deficit during both wins so far this season. Bryant trailed Brown by two after the first half in the season opener before outscoring the Bears 21-18 to grab its first win of the season. Then against Albany, the Bulldogs came back from a seven-point halftime deficit, outscoring the Great Danes 46-26 in the second half for a 68-55 victory.
