3 Bulldogs hit double figures in loss to MSU

EAST LANSING, MICH. – Three Bulldogs from the Bryant University women's basketball team reached double figures in the 100-60 road loss to Michigan State this afternoon.

Alana Perkins led with 15, Brooke Bjelko scored 11, and Megan Bodziony tallied 10 points.

 How it Happened

  • The first quarter started off in a back-and-forth affair. The Bulldogs tied the game at nine in the first four minutes, behind four points from Bjelko, a three-pointer from Perkins, and a layup by Nicole Gallagher.
  • Bryant then tied it at 11, before the Spartans went on a 7-0 run (18-11).
  • Bjelko and Perkins then combined for six points to go along with nine points from MSU to create a 27-17 Spartan lead after one quarter.
  • Michigan State then went on a 24-1 run, which produced a 35 point lead (53-18).
  • The Black and Gold outscored MSU 15-9 in the final three minutes of the first half (59-34). Juliette Golden, Shannon O'Connor, and Megan Bodziony scored in close. Gallagher drained a three on a fast break, and Perkins nailed back-to-back three's during the run.
  • MSU outscored Bryant 12-6 heading into the third quarter media timeout (71-45).
  • Bodziony scored eight points to finish the third quarter along with baskets from Blanca Chasco, Mariona Planes Fortuny, and Perkins.
  • The Black and Gold were outscored 19-6 in the final period of the game (100-60).
