SMITHFIELD, R.I. - The Bryant University women's basketball team finishes their three-game homestand with a Friday night matchup against the Pioneers of Sacred Heart.

THE SERIES
The Bulldogs are 6-22 all-time against the Pioneers and 3-11 when playing in Smithfield. The Black and Gold fell to Sacred Heart 80-61 in their first matchup of the season on the road. Fatou Jallow led the team in scoring with 19 points.

SHU comes into Friday night's matchup with a 5-11 overall record and a 4-8 conference record. The Pioneers are currently on a six-game losing streak. Sacred Heart fell to Merrimack 74-65 on Wednesday. Maiya Bergdorf led the team in scoring with 15 points.

  • Lucie Castagne recorded a career-high 11 points (5-9) on Saturday against Mount St. Mary's. Since becoming a starter, Castagne is shooting 55% from the field and has grabbed 22 rebounds.
  • Jallow recorded her eighth double-digit game of the season and her second consecutive game of 13 points. Jallow is shooting 4-8 from deep in her last two games.
  • The Bulldogs and Pioneers are both 4-8 in conference play, and the winner of Friday's game will move to the seventh position in the NEC.
  • Alana Perkins has hit at least two three-pointers in 15 games this year. Perkins is shooting a career-high 33.7% from beyond the arc this season.
  • Mariona Planes Fortuny is averaging a career-high 9.4 ppg this year. Fortuny has started 19 games and is averaging 27 minutes per game.
