Burke adds Janelle Harrison to coaching staff

SMITHFIELD, R.I. - Bryant women's basketball head coach Mary Burke announced the hiring of Janelle Harrison to the coaching staff for the upcoming 2022-23 season.

"I am excited to announce that Janelle Harrison has been named as a new member of the Bryant Univeristy women's basketball staff", Burke said. "Janelle was a standout women's basketball player at the University of Hartford (2014-2018) where she was chosen as an America East All-Conference selection. Her familiarity with the conference and versatility as a player will no doubt be an asset for our program and players as we transition to our inaugural season in the America East Conference".

Harrison was the Director of Basketball operations for the Hawks last season, and before that played professionally overseas in Terceira, Portugal, Beirut, and Lebanon from 2018-2021. As a player for the Hawks, Harrison was a two-time member of the America East all-defensive team and named to the All-Championship team. She also is fifth all-time in steals with 190 and was the 7th player in Hawks history to record 500+ career rebounds (558).
