Roche finalizes incoming class

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Head coach Brianna Roche finalized the class of 2023 for the Byrant University women's lacrosse team with seven freshmen and a sophomore transfer from Manhattan College.

"We are so excited to welcome our freshman to campus and kickstart our 2019-2020 season," exclaimed Roche. "Individually, each player brings with them a unique set of skills and experiences which contributes to our team's creation of a competitive practice environment.  Collectively, the group embodies our core values surrounding positive attitude, work ethic, and toughness, and they continue to push our team each and every day to get better. We're excited to watch their development over the course of the year and expect they will each contribute to our team's success!"

Cassidy Burns | Massapequa, N.Y. | Plainedge (Manhattan College)

MAAC Rookie of the Year and three-time MAAC Rookie of the Week while at Manhattan … Tallied 15 goals and 25 assists on the season as a Jasper … Ranked third on the team with 40 points … Her 25 assists led Manhattan with the third-most in program history and the most by a rookie … Ranked fourth in the MAAC with 1.47 assists per game … Scored a season-high three goals in a win over Iona (4/10) to go along with two assists ... Earned four letters under coach Kristen Susko at Plainedge High School … Tabbed as an All-American in 2018 … Earned All-NYSSWA Second Team honors for small schools during her senior year … Also received All-Nassau County recognition as the Red Devils claimed the Conference II championship … Named the Plainedge MVP in 2017 and 2018 … Also picked up All-Nassau County honors in her junior season.

Margaret Adams | Mattapoisett, Mass. | Tabor Academy

A four-year varsity letter winner in lacrosse and soccer …  Two time Standard Times All-Star for lacrosse as a freshman and sophomore …  Recipient of the Bulldog Award as a freshman for leading by example, showing selfless devotion to the team, and representing the team and school on and off the field in a "Bulldog" way … As a sophomore on the lacrosse team, won the Coaches Award for dedication to the team, selfless play, and hard work … Voted Most Valuable Player by her coaches and teammates as a junior … All-League ISL (Independent School League) as a junior … Played club lacrosse for Mass Elite.

Daughter of Elizabeth and Scott Adams … Has one brother Jeremiah, and two sisters, Abigail and Sarah … Margaret comes from a family full of college athletes as her father, Adam, played football at Northeastern, brother, Jeremiah, plays baseball at West Point, and sister, Abigail, ran track at Merrimack.

 

Madison Henry | Broomall, Pa. | Archbishop John Carroll

A four-year varsity letter winner in lacrosse and three-year letter winner in soccer at Archbishop John Carroll high school … Helped her team to three Philadelphia Catholic League and District 12 championships … Recipient of the Coaches Award, Futures Award, and Captains Award for soccer … Two-time All-Catholic League … Played club lacrosse for Phantastix.

Alleigh Kempf | Chapel Hill, N.C. | Chapel Hill

A four-year varsity letter winner in lacrosse at Chapel Hill high school … Helped her high school squad to three consecutive Conference Championships where the team was a three-time Conference Runner-Up … Led her lacrosse team to the Regional Semifinal game and two third-round-games in the State Playoffs … Posted a career-high 54 goals as a junior … Two-time All-Conference selectee and earned Second Team All-Conference honors as a junior …  Raleigh News & Observer All-Metro Top-30 as a sophomore … US Lacrosse Underclass North Carolina National Tournament Team and participated in the Girl's Highlight South Team Under All-America Games as a sophomore … Played club lacrosse for the Carolina Fever.

Four-year varsity letter winner in lacrosse at Agawam High School … Helped her high school squad to three consecutive 14-14 seasons … Helped lead her team to two Western Mass Semifinal games and one Quarterfinal game … Earned All-League and All-Western-Mass honors in 2017 and 2018 … Named US Lacrosse High School All-American in 2018 … Led All-Western-Mass in points with 91 goals and 37 assists … Played club lacrosse for Lax Plus Lacrosse Club.
