MANHATTAN, NY- The Bryant women's lacrosse team earned their first win of the season in New York, downing Columbia 20-6. Skylar Simmonds led the offensive attack for the Bulldogs, scoring seven goals.

How it Happened

Q1: The Bulldogs jumped out to an early lead, scoring four consecutive goals. They outshot the Lions 12-4 in the period as well. Simmonds scored three of her goals in the first 15.

Q2: Bryant extended the lead big time in the second, outsourcing Columbia 7-1 on a 13-2 shot advantage. Amelia Piercy scored her first career goal in the quarter.

Q3: Defense led the Bulldogs in the third, as they shut out the Lions in the period, allowing only one shot. Bryant's five goals in the period were part of an 8-0 run extended from the second.

Q4: Chamberlaine Bell scored both of Bryant's goals in the fourth quarter as the Bulldogs cruised home to the victory.

Bulldog Notes and Notables

  • Simmonds' seven goals led all players and set a new career high. She scored on all seven shots taken in the game.

  • Kenna Kaut added five points on three goals and two assists. She leads the team with ten total points through two games.

  • The Bulldogs dominated the draw battle, with 19 draw controls to Columbia's seven.

  • Cassidy Burns had a goal and two assists for three points, giving her 99 in her career.
