SMITHFIELD, RI - The Bryant women's soccer team was well represented on the 2007 Division II Daktronics All Region Women's Soccer team announced recently.
Senior Tricia Spada (Dedham, Mass.) and junior Danielle Malta (Bethel, Conn.) were both named First Team All-Region by Daktronics while junior Alaina Iannazzi (Methuen, Mass.) was named Second Team All-Region by Daktronics.
Spada, a senior midfielder, led the Bulldogs with nine goals and five assists for 23 points. She had four game winning goals including back-to-back winners against Stonehill and Franklin Pierce.
She had two goals in a win over Holy Family earlier in the season.
Malta, who earned third team all-America honors by Daktronics for all of Division II, and Iannazzi, helped backbone the Bulldog defense that allowed just 21 goals on the season.
Malta started all 23 games for the Bulldogs and was named Northeast-10 Defensive Player of the Year.
Iannazzi had an assist in the team's 2-0 conference playoff win over UMass Lowell and had an assist against Saint Rose in the NE-10 final.
Bryant tied a school record with 17 wins on the season in
advancing to the NCAA playoffs for the second straight year.
