Dalton makes six saves in Bryant's OT loss to Binghamton

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – After 90 minutes was not enough, the Bryant University women's soccer team took Binghamton to overtime on Thursday, only to fall on a Kayla Saager goal in the 94th minute.

Game Information

Binghamton 1, Bryant 0

Records: Binghamton 4-3-2, Bryant 3-4-0

Location: Bearcats Sports Complex | Smithfield, R.I.

Coach Biggs' Comments

"I thought our game picked up as we moved into the last twenty minutes of the first half, and our energy was good throughout the second half. Both teams defended well and it was a game with few clear chances, as the score reflects. We're disappointed to be on this side of a tough scoreline and will work hard to rebound well in our next game."

Key Moment

Saager scored the game's winning goal from just inside the box and, with a Bryant defender guarding tightly, fired the shot past sophomore Meghan Dalton (West Hartford, Conn.).

Scoring Summary

  • 94th minute – Binghamton 1, Bryant 0 – After Saager got the ball just inside the box, she took a couple touches to her left and was able to beat Dalton, who was moving to her right to guard the post.

  • The sophomore keeper finished with six saves on the evening, with three in each half. It is her second match in the last three outings that she's recorded six or more saves and the third game this season she's reached that number.

  • Other than Dalton, sophomores Jamie Irwin (Succasunna, N.J.) and Kylie Ratelle (Chicopee, Mass.) were the only other players to play all 93-plus minutes in the match.
