Dalton selected as NEC Defensive Player of the Week

SOMERSET, N.J. – Bryant University women's soccer team sophomore goalkeeper Meghan Dalton (West Hartford, Conn.) was named Northeast Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday.

Dalton is coming off of a nine-save weekend in which she went 1-0-1, including a clean sheet effort on Friday in Bryant's 1-0 win over Wagner on Staten Island. She made six saves in the match, along with three in Sunday afternoon's matchup with Saint Francis U.

The sophomore keeper has dropped her goals-against average by over a goal since a loss to Maine on September 2, currently sitting at a 1.24 GAA with a .767 save percentage. She has made 20 saves and allowed just three goals in her last five starts, resulting in a 3-1-1 record.

Bryant returns to the pitch on Sunday at 1 p.m. when they play host to Fairleigh Dickinson in a rematch of the 2017 NEC Semifinal matchup that the Knights won 2-1.
