NEC Semifinal rematch on deck Sunday in Smithfield

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University women's soccer team looks to push its unbeaten streak to five on Sunday afternoon, as the Bulldogs play host to defending Northeast Conference regular-season champion Fairleigh Dickinson.

The Series

In the 10 meetings between the schools, the Knights have taken home six wins to Bryant's three, with one draw. Recent history has favored the New Jersey school, as they have taken the last six matches, including a 2017 Northeast Conference semifinal bout.

Bulldogs Notes and Notables

  • Bryant earned a point off the defending conference tournament champions Saint Francis U on Sunday afternoon, drawing 1-1. Bryant has three wins and a draw in their last four outings.
  • The Bulldogs are tied with Central Connecticut atop the defensive leaderboard with a 0.67 goals-against average in conference matches this season.
  • In addition, Bryant's 1.18 goals per game on the entire campaign is good for third in the conference.
  • Sophomore Meghan Dalton (West Hartford, Conn.) earned NEC Defensive Player of the Week accolades this week after allowing just the one goal in 200 minutes between the posts over the weekend. She has allowed three goals in her last five starts, making 20 saves.
  • Offensively, five different Bulldogs have found the back of the net multiple times this season, led by senior Cayla D'Amico (Grafton, Mass.), who has tallied three goals and two assists on the year.
  • Two freshmen join the other four, with Corinne Rey (Norton, Mass.) and Lexi Kraemer (Forest Hill, Md.) each scoring two for Bryant. They have also combined for three NEC Rookie of the Week awards.

A bit about the Knights

  • After winning their first four NEC matches in 2017, Fairleigh Dickinson is slower out of the conference gate this season. They have ones across the record entering the weekend, drawing Mount St. Mary's, dropping a match at Central Connecticut and beating Robert Morris.
  • Viktorija Miseljic leads the Knights offensively with 10 points on four goals and a pair of assists. She scored the game-winner against the Colonials, flicking a header off a free kick into the net.
  • Sofia Albertsson and Noam Kedem have each netted a pair of goals this season, with Albertsson adding a pair of assists.
  • Between the posts, Amanda Fitzgerald has started all 13 games for the Knights. She enters the weekend with a 1.24 goals-against average and .776 save percentage on her 2018 resume.
