Bryant battles new NEC foe Merrimack

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Following the program's inaugural night game at Beirne Stadium, the Bryant University women's soccer team is set to take on new Northeast Conference member, Merrimack, Monday at 7 p.m. in the second and final night game at home this season.

The Series

This game will mark the first that the Bulldogs and Warriors will play in the Division I era. The two teams have met one other time in program history, in 2007 when Bryant took the match in North Andover, 1-0. Merrimack joined the Northeast Conference for the 2019-20 season.

Bulldogs Notes and Notables

• The Black and Gold is coming off a 1-0 heartbreaking defeat to Holy Cross on Thursday night, when the Crusaders' goal was scored from a deflection off a Bryant defender.
• The Bulldog defense has held teams to just one goal in every game so far this season.
• Nine different Bryant players fired 10 shots total on Thursday night.
• Senior Alison Guilmette (Coventry, R.I.) was the only player with more than one shot.
• Along with Guilmette, seniors Caitlyn Linden (Newtown, Conn.), Remi Mana (Pleasantville, N.Y.) and junior Katie Cronin (Feeding Hills, Mass.) all had a shot on target.
• In the net, junior Meghan Dalton (West Hartford, Conn.) has played all 361 minutes between the posts, recording a 1.00 goal-against average and a .871 save percentage on the season.

A bit about the Warriors

• Merrimack enters the matchup with an identical record to Bryant, 1-3.
• The warriors lone win was a 2-1 victory over Vermont at the beginning of the month.
• The teams have had one mutual opponent in the regular season, both dropping the matchup to Maine.
• Bryant also fell to New Hampshire and Hartford in the preseason, while Merrimack was defeated by both in the regular season.
• Four different players have each scored the Warriors goals this season - Erin Tyldesley, Rebecca Harty, Taylor Robertson and Izzy McDonnell.
• In the net, Erin Fulton and Megan Langlois have split time in each of the team's four games, with Fulton starting all four. Fulton has tallied a 1.33 goals-against average and a .895 save percentage, while Langlois has a 2.40 GAA and a .600 save percentage.
