Spiratos and Bean score in win against UVM

MANCHESTER, VT - Catherine Bean and Eleni Spiratos of the Bryant UniversIty women's soccer team found the back of the net in the Black and Gold's first win of the season against Vermont 2-1 today.

Coach Bigg's Comments

 "Our team played well again today but found ourselves down a goal at the half. Full credit to the team as the players remained focused and fought to the end to earn the 2-1 comeback win on the road against a tough Vermont team that has started the season well".

•  The Bulldogs scored two goals within 15 minutes of each other to take the lead in the second half.

Scoring Summary

• 20th minute - UVM 1, Bryant 0 - The Catamount forward received a pass in front of the goal that she then shot to the left of the goal.
• 72nd minute - Bryant 1, UVM 1 - Bean lofted a shot from 25 yards out that found the bottom right corner past the UVM goalie.
• 87th minute - Bryant 2, UVM 1 - Spiratos fired a shot from distance that hit a Vermont defender in the box and was redirected for the game-winning goal.
