In-state duel set for Wednesday in Kingston

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – In its last road dual meet of the season, the Bryant University women's swimming and diving team is headed to in-state rival Rhode Island on Wednesday night.

Last Time Out

Junior Jillian Rice (Trumbull, Conn.) and freshman Elin Svärd (Falun, Dalarna, Sweden) each won four races for the Bulldogs as they extended their dual meet winning streak to two with a 175-125 win over Marist on Saturday.

Last Meet with Rhode Island

At the Chace Athletic Center Pool, the Bulldogs were leading until the last two events and dropped a 138-123 heartbreaker to the Rams in the 2017 regular season finale. Rice and sophomore Alaina Scifo (Ipswich, Great Britain) each won two races for the Black and Gold.

Earlier this season, the two teams competed at the six-team Harold Anderson Invitational, where the Rams and Bulldogs finished first and second, respectively.

A bit about the Rams

After finishing the 2017 calendar year with a win at the Harold Anderson Invite, the Rams have lost three straight meets, including one to NEC member Wagner.

Hannah Homans led the Rams in their previous meet, winning both the 100 back (58.12) and 200 back (2:06.81). Nicole Petta added wins in the 100 breast (1:05.48) and 200 breast (2:25.18), as well as a third-place finish in the 200 IM (2:17.19).
