SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University women's tennis team fell to Brandeis University, 4-3, on Saturday night at Rally Point.

The Judges were ranked No. 19 in the DIII national poll heading into the match.

HOW IT HAPPENED (DOUBLES)

  • No. 1 – Olivia Leavitt and Diana Dehterevich earned a victory at No. 1 doubles over Ashanti Campfield (Stratford, Conn.) and Stefanie Arroyo (Gurabo, Puerto Rico), 7-5.
  • No. 2 – Keren Khromchenko and Sabrina Ross Neergaard were able to knock off Linnea Sjoberg (Stockholm, Sweden) and Nina Luiggi (Nottingham, England), 7-5.
  • No. 3 – Arianna Oropeza (Weston, Fla.) and Gabrielle Bergeron (Quebec, Canada) earned a thrilling win at No. 3, coming back from down 5-2 to win, 7-5.

HOW IT HAPPENED (SINGLES)

  • No. 1 – Campfield and Ross Neergaard went toe-to-toe in a three-set battled. Neergaard came out on top, 7-5, 3-6, 6-1.
  • No. 2 – Sjoberg picked up a point with a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Khromchenko.
  • No. 3 – Haley Cohen earned a straight-set victory over Luiggi, 6-4, 6-4.
  • No. 4 – Arroyo cruised to a victory at No. 4, 6-0, 6-4.
  • No. 5 – Freshman Caterina Luisa Rokke (Oslo, Norway) won the first set 6-1 but was forced to retire due to an injury in the second set.
  • No. 6 – Oropeza outlasted Rachel Zubrinsky in three sets, 6-0, 4-6, 6-1.
