WEST WINDSOR, N.J. – The Bryant University women's tennis team defeated sixth-seeded Wagner College, 5-0, in the quarterfinal round of the 2019 Northeast Conference Women's Tennis Championships Thursday afternoon.

How it Happened

  • The Bulldogs earned a clean sweep in doubles, winning 6-3, 6-3 and 6-4.
  • Ada Boru (Istanbul, Turkey) and Sarah Hickey (Toronto, Ont.) won at No. 1, while Megan Tan (Calgary, Alberta, Canada) and Aleksi Gottlieb (Plantation, Fla.) won 6-3 at No. 2.
  • Leanne Kendall (Lakeville, Mass.) and Gabrielle Bergeron (Quebec, Canada) won at No. 3.
  • In singles, Bryant clinched the match with victories at 1, 4, 5 and 6.
  • Boru made her NEC Championship debut with a 6-1, 6-1 win and Tan earned a hard-fought three-set victory at 4.
  • Kendall also made a strong showing in her championship debut with a 6-0, 6-0 victory at 6.
