Scarff earns second-straight Molten/NEC Rookie of the Week honor

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – For the second-consecutive week and fourth time this season, Bryant University outside hitter Natascha Scarff (Geneva, Switzerland) has been named the Molten/NEC Rookie of the Week.

Scarff led the Bulldogs with 30 kills and a .338 attack percentage on a 1-1 week, posting match-high kills and double-doubles in both outings. The rookie tied her career high with a match-leading 20 kills Saturday, as the Bulldogs forced LIU Brooklyn to its first five-set match in conference play this season.

Scarff led the contest once again on Sunday, posting 10 kills in a 3-0 win over St. Francis Brooklyn. The newcomer finished second on the team in digs with 24, recording 14 Saturday and 10 on Sunday for her 10th and 11th double-double of the year. Scarff added an ace against the Terriers and suffered only a single reception error in 41 attempts (.976). She also added a trio of blocks while averaging 3.75 kills per set.

The Bulldogs continue their hunt for the program's first NEC playoff berth in the final week of regular season action. Bryant next plays Sacred Heart on the road Thursday night (7 p.m.).
