Bryant sweeps Hartford in final regular season non-conference match

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – Junior Julia Flynn (Pembroke, Mass.) tallied 11 kills and nine digs, while senior Kiley Robbins (Garland, Texas) recorded 10 kills and five blocks as the Bryant University volleyball team swept Hartford Tuesday in a non-conference match.

"We played a faster tempo tonight and it really paid off. With Kiley Robbins on the right side and Ally Lunsford in the middle, our blocking was solid. The team's energy was high and we kept our composure under pressure." 

How it Happened

  • Set 1 – Bryant trailed 14-12 before a 6-0 run that included two kills from junior Julia Flynn (Pembroke, Mass.). Hartford would cut it to one at 21-20 before Bryant extended the lead again and closed out the set on a kill by junior Kirstyn Sperry (Phoenix, Ariz.).
  • Set 2 – Senior Kiley Robbins (Garland, Texas) had five blocks in the set and the Bulldogs had seven as a team. Hartford led by as many as five in the set before Bryant came back and took a 2-0 lead in the match.
  • Set 3 –Senior Ally Lunsford (Minneola, Fla.) had four blocks during an 8-1 run that turned a 6-3 deficit into an 11-7 advantage. After Hartford cut it to 17-15, a 5-0 run with freshman Alisi Motu'apuaka (Virginia Beach, Va.) serving added some breathing room for the Bulldogs, who closed out the sweep on a Flynn kill.
