Tuesday contest at Hartford up next for Bryant

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – The Bryant University volleyball team plays the first of three road matches this week with a non-conference tilt Tuesday night at Hartford.

Series History vs. Hartford
The Bulldogs are 12-8 all-time against the Hawks and 5-7 in the Division I era. The teams are meeting in West Hartford for the second straight year. Bryant swept Hartford last season with 12 blocks as a team in the three-set win and 11 kills from Julia Flynn (Pembroke, Mass.). 

Bulldog Notes and Notables

  • Bryant is 11-7 on the year after a 2-0 start to NEC play at home last weekend. The Bulldogs swept Saint Francis U Friday before a five-set win over Robert Morris Saturday.
  • Senior Kristin Kingi (Thousand Oaks, Calif.) tallied a career-high 24 digs in Saturday's win over the Colonials.
  • Kingi has recorded 20 or more digs three times in her last six matches, besting a previous career-high of 19 matched earlier this season. The senior is 233 total digs away from matching the Division I career record of 1,359 set by Debora Magalhaes in 2015.
  • Flynn enters the week 46 kills shy of 1,000 for her collegiate career.
  • Senior Kirstyn Sperry (Phoenix, Ariz.) recorded two aces in Saturday's win over Robert Morris, making her the first Bulldog in the Division I era to collect 150 for her career.
  • Bryant's Saturday win over Robert Morris was the Bulldogs' fourth-consecutive victory on the Saturday of Homecoming & Reunion Weekend.
  • Head coach Theresa Garlacy won her 500th career match Sept. 8 against Coppin State. Garlacy has 505 career victories entering the week – all of them at Bryant.

A Bit About Hartford
The Hawks are 7-5 after a conference-opening loss to Stony Brook Friday. Hartford is 1-2 against mutual opponents with a win over Brown and losses to Providence and Stony Brook; the Bulldogs had the opposite result against all three teams. 

Jenna Bridges leads Hartford with 4.12 kills per set on a .363 hitting percentage and has also recorded a team-best 1.07 blocks per set. Megan Anderson has collected 10.46 assists per set.
