Volleyball Falls to Brown, 3-0

PROVIDENCE, R.I.- The Bryant women's volleyball team fell to Brown, 3-0, in a non-conference match Tuesday night. It was the second loss against Brown for the Bulldogs this season.

"Emma really stepped up and showed that she can compete with any opponent."

How it Happened:

Set 1: The Bulldogs trailed from early in the set, but kept close until the end. Despite an even number of kills for both teams in the set, Brown's more efficient hitting gave them the advantage. Emma McGovern led the offense with four kills without an error in the set.

Set 2: The second set played out similarly to the first. Bryant capitalized on four service aces by the Bears to stay within arm's reach, but could muster only 10 kills on a .125 attack percentage. Aubrey Lapour registered two of her freshman career high three kills in the set.

Set 3: Bryant got off to a good start in the third, taking their first lead of the match. The two teams went back and forth for most of the set, with Bryant improving their hitting to stay close. McGovern and Haley O'Brien combined for ten kills in the set.

 

Notes and Notables:

  • Emma McGovern led all players with eleven kills in the match on a .500 attack percentage. She also posted eight kills and one block.

  • Riley James had five kills, increasing her team high total to 67. She also had seven digs and her team leading 13th ace.

  • Freshman Aubrey Lapour notched an early career high of three kills in the match.
