Volleyball Hosts URI Tuesday Night

SMITHFIELD, R.I.- The Bryant women's volleyball team will host Rhode Island on Tuesday in their final non-conference matchup of the regular season.

Bulldog Notes and Notables

  • Bryant is 3-1 after two weekends of NEC play, putting them in a four way tie atop the standings. Their 10-9 overall record is the best of any team in the conference.

  • Riley James had a season high 20 kills in Bryant's 3-2 loss to LIU on Saturday. She also had 11 digs, giving her five straight double-doubles and a team high six on the season.

  • Alysa Wright had 11 total blocks in the two matches this weekend, including seven against LIU. Her 72 total blocks lead the NEC and her 1.04 blocks per set are third best.

  • Caroline Kennedy totaled 25 kills and eight blocks over the weekend. She is third on the team in both categories.

  • The Bulldogs lead the NEC in both kills and assists for the season. They have 915 total kills (13.07 per set) and 831 total assists (11.87 per set).

Scouting the Rams

  • URI is 8-10 this season, and 0-3 in the Atlantic 10. 

  • Player to Watch: Freshman setter Grace Hammond leads the Rams and is fifth in the A-10 with 383 total assists. She is also the team leader with 24 service aces.

  • Bryant earned their first ever win over URI on August 28. The 3-1 match came in Kingston during the season-opening Art Carmichael Invitational.
