As assistant coach Ted Garlacy enters his 16th year at Bryant University, a program would be hard-pressed to find a coach as devoted as Garlacy.

Assisting his wife, head coach Theresa Garlacy, Ted plays a key role in all aspects of the Bulldog program, from recruiting and scouting to coordinating practice sessions, match administration and strength & conditioning.

Together, the two are the perfect combination ??" a duo that has turned the Bryant program into one of the top volleyball programs in the region.

Since Garlacy came to Bryant in 1994, the Bulldogs have made 11 NCAA appearances, winning 20 or more matches in a season 10 times and topping the 30-win plateau on four occasions.

In addition to his work at Bryant, Garlacy also has spent three seasons as an assistant volleyball coach and two years as head coach at North Smithfield High School, also serving as the head coach of Brown University's men's club volleyball team.

A 1991 graduate of Roger Williams University, Garlacy is a retired sergeant from the North Smithfield police department. In addition to his coaching duties, Garlacy also coordinates many of the Bulldog volleyball team's community service efforts and has been a longtime volunteer with the Special Olympics. Garlacy received a master???s degree from Bryant in May 2007.
