Cross Country Opens Season Saturday at Amherst Invite
AMHERST, MA. - After a successful 2006 season, the Bryant cross country team will return to the track Saturday, taking part in the Amherst Invitational at Amherst College.
The Bulldogs, under the direction of interim coach Stephanie Reilly, will look to senior Nicole Radzik (Sutton, Mass.) to lead the way this season.
Radzik was an NCAA qualifier last season. Reilly, a 2002 graduate of Providence College, takes over for Trish Hillery who resigned to return to teaching earlier this summer.
In 2006, the men's cross-country team placed sixth at the Northeast-10 Conference Championship, while the women's squad finished eighth.
Radzik finish fifth at the conference championship, earning all-conference honors. She also placed fifth at the NCAA Regional Championships, earnign a trip to nationals in Florida.
Junior Tom Casey (New Windsor, NY) earned Academic All-Conference recognition.
Following this Saturday's meet, the Bulldogs will head to
Manchester, NH to take part in the Shacklette Invitational at Saint
Anselm College.
