AMHERST, Mass. -  Bryant senior cross country standout Nicole Radzik (Sutton, Mass.) placed first overall in the women's division Saturday at the Amherst College Invitational as the Bryant men's and women's cross country teams opened their 2007 seasons.   The Bryant women place fifth out of eight teams while the men were third overall out of seven teams competing on a hot and humid afternoon.

Radzik, an NCAA championship qualifier in 2006, finished the 5,000 kilometer race in 19 minutes, 52 seconds, just edging Amherst's Katie Moravec.  The men were paced by Tom Casey's 15th-place finish in the men's 5K race as Casey crossed the line in a time of 17:19.  Nathaniel Green of York, Maine was next, finishing in 19th in 17:29.

The Bulldogs will be at Saint Anselm next Saturday.
