Competed in all seven meets for the Bulldogs ... Was among the top two Bulldog finishers in each appearance ... Ran a personal-best 26:10.9 at the NEICAA Cross Country Championship where he finished 57th ... Earned All-NEC honors for finishing 14th at the NEC Championship with a time of 26:58.3 ... Named to the NEC Fall Academic Honor Roll. 

As a junior (2017): Competed in five out of the seven events during the Fall of 2017 ... Finished amongst the top 3 finishing times for the Bulldogs in each appearance ... Had the best time for the Bulldogs during the NCAA Regionals at 34:53.2, finishing 153^rd out of the 254 participants.

As a sophomore (2016): Competed in all seven races for the Bulldogs in 2016 ... Posted a top time of 26:51.6 at the New England Championships ... Finished 24th at the NEC Championships with a time of 29:56.6 ... Posted a time of 34:23.71 in the NCAA Regionals.

As a freshman (2015): Competed in four of the six races in 2015 ... Finished 39th with a time of 27:30.4 at the NEC Championships ... Finished 39th with a time of 16:05 at the Nassaney Invitational ... Named to the NEC Academic Honor Roll.

Before Bryant: A four-year varsity letter winner in cross country at Long Beach ... Qualified for the state cross country meet ... Earned All-County honors ... Also competed four years in indoor and outdoor track and field ... Earned All-Division honors and was a three-time division champion ... Also a conference champion in track and field.

Personal: The son of Claire and Tom McGovern, Matthew McGovern was born on Aug. 1, 1997 ... Has a brother, Thomas, and a sister, Emma.
