Bryant hosts NEC Championship Saturday

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University men's and women's cross country teams will be hosting the Northeast Conference Championships on Saturday starting at 11 a.m. All NEC cross country members will be competing with an awards ceremony to follow the men's race at approximately 1 p.m.

Course: Bryant University Cross Country Course

Time: Women's 5K - 11 a.m. Men's 8K - 12:00 p.m.

Bulldogs Notes and Notables:

• Last year at the NEC Championship, the women's team finished fourth and the men beat out Wagner in a tiebreaker to secure fifth place.
• Caroline Meizen (Douglas, Mass.) was the top returning finisher for the women's team placing 44 with a time of 20:50.6.
• Noah Tellier (North Kingstown, R.I.) was the top finisher for the men last season finishing in the 19 spot with a time of 27:06.3.
• This year marks the third time ever that Bryant will be hosting the NEC Championship since becoming a Division I institution. The last time the NEC Championship was in Smithfield was in 2015.
