Townes sank the game-winning three-pointer with 7.4 seconds remaining in Bryant’s 63-60 victory over Central Connecticut Thursday in Smithfield. The junior forward was 7-for-12 from the field and 3-for-4 from beyond the arc in an 18-point night with seven rebounds. Townes would score 18 points again Saturday in the Bulldogs’ contest against Fairleigh Dickinson. The Virginia native averaged 18.0 points and 5.5 rebounds per game on the week while shooting 52.2 percent.
