Kim, Holloway, Wright earn ICC honors

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Three Bryant University senior student-athletes have been honored by the university with 2019-20 Intercultural Center awards from the PwC Center for Diversity and Inclusion.

Volleyball senior Nicole Kim (River Edge, N.J.), women's basketball senior Sydney Holloway (Morgantown, W.Va.), and football senior Tomas Wright (St. Augustine, Fla.) garnered honors from the Center for academic and athletic achievements during their time in Smithfield.

Kim was named the recipient of the Benjamin Banneker Academic Excellence Award, given to a senior intercultural student with a high academic ranking who promotes, values and celebrates diversity. A four-time NEC commissioner's honor roll recipient, Kim graduated in December and was a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society. The defensive specialist from New Jersey recorded 196 digs and 35 aces in her four seasons in Black & Gold, helping Bryant to 81 victories.

Holloway and Wright were the recipients of the ICC Jim Thorpe Athletic Award, which recognizes a senior intercultural student-athlete.

Holloway holds Bryant's Division I scoring record with 1,654 career points in her time as a Bulldog. She ranks second in D1 program history with 1,102 career rebounds and is one of three players in NEC history with 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds. Holloway helped the Bulldogs to their first appearance in the NEC Championship game in 2016-17.

Wright's 30.5 career sacks and 12.5 as a junior in 2018 both stand atop of the program's career lists. The defensive end added 150 tackles, 43.5 tackles for loss and 10 forced fumbles in his four years as a Bulldog and is one of only three players in NEC history with 30 career sacks. Wright recorded six games of multiple TFLs as a senior in 2019.
