In addition to his sports information duties, Hobbes assists with the publicity of Bryant's athletic teams, helping create media guides, press releases, game programs, brochures and other publications and also helps with website design and content.  He also helps updates the official Bryant Athletics social media accounts. Hobbes has also handled play-by-play duties of multiple sports, including football, field hockey, men's and women's soccer, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's lacrosse, softball and baseball for the Bryant Sports Network.

Hobbes graduated from Eastern Connecticut State University in May of 2009 with a degree in communication and graduated from Boston University in January 2011 with a master’s degree in Broadcast Journalism. While at ECSU, he was a four-year member of the baseball team and helped the team win three Little East Conference championships, reach the NCAA Regionals all four seasons and advance to the Division III National Championships twice. Hobbes was an all-conference selection and an All-New England selection his sophomore year and finished his career with 179 hits.  He was also named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District I First Team for three seasons and the Academic All-America First Team as a senior.  Hobbes was an active member of his campus Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), serving as the president in his final two years.

At Boston University, Hobbes worked for the student-run radio station WTBU Sports as a beat reporter and broadcaster for women’s soccer and men’s ice hockey.  He was the voice of the Terriers’ hockey team for two years and was able to broadcast two Beanpot’s as well as the Hockey East Tournament.

Prior to joining the Bulldogs, Hobbes honed his craft with many different organizations. He spent six summers broadcasting in collegiate summer baseball leagues, most recently serving as the play-by-play voice of the Ocean State Waves in the New England Collegiate Baseball League.
